商業授權模式有根據 CPU Cores/Pack 方式，或 Server + CAL 方式2種。

CPU Cores/Pack 販售以 Pack 為單位，每個 Pack 有2個 CPU Cores 授權。Enterprise 每個Pack為14,256美金，Standard 每個Pack為3,717美金。
Server + CAL 方式只提供 SQL Server 2016 Standard版，Server每台 931美金。( SQL 2016 CAL用戶每個209美金，SQL 2017 CAL 訂價不詳)。用戶不管是直接存取or間接存去DB都算。對外公開大眾存取的網站不能用 Server + CAL 方式。
以 1 vCPU * 4 vCores的VM估算，需2 Packs，(3717*2-931)/209=31.11，若 CAL 超過31，以 Per Core方式買比較合算。
