EPEL 可以讓 RHEL, CentOS, Scientific Linux (SL), Oracle Enterprise Linux(OEL) 的 yum 多了一些套件可以輕易安裝。

Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (or EPEL) is a Fedora Special Interest Group that creates, maintains, and manages a high quality set of additional packages for Enterprise Linux, including, but not limited to, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS and Scientific Linux (SL), Oracle Enterprise Linux(OEL).

EPEL packages are usually based on their Fedora counterparts and will never conflict with or replace packages in the base Enterprise Linux distributions. EPEL uses much of the same infrastructure as Fedora, including buildsystem, bugzilla instance, updates manager, mirror manager and more.

會自動轉址到 mirror 站，例如
https://ftp.yzu.edu.tw/Linux/Fedora-EPEL/7/x86_64/

點 Packages 子目錄，點 e 子目錄
https://ftp.yzu.edu.tw/Linux/Fedora-EPEL/7/x86_64/Packages/e/
可以找到目前提供的 epel-release 版本，例如
https://ftp.yzu.edu.tw/Linux/Fedora-EPEL/7/x86_64/Packages/e/epel-release-7-11.noarch.rpm

安裝
wget  http://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/Linux/Fedora/epel/beta/7/x86_64/epel-release-7-11.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh  epel-release-7-11.noarch.rpm

2018-01-28 後來發現更簡便方法

[root@localhost ~]# yum  -y  install  epel-release
但是測試時候安裝的是  epel-release-7-9.noarch，不是目前最新的 7-11 版
要執行第二次
[root@localhost ~]# yum  -y  install  epel-release
才會更新到 7-11 版
